Sound Bites: Radiohead, Busta Rhymes, Peter Gabriel

May 2 -- Radiohead Moves on to Kid BetaRadiohead has tapped another experimental British rock act, the Beta Band, to serve as the opening act on its recently announced U.S. tour. Radiohead will hit the road June 18, two weeks after the planned release of Amnesiac. The Beta Band is releasing an album of its own, Hotshots II, in July. In addition to naming the openers, Radiohead added 11 more shows to bring its itinerary to 18 stops. The new dates begin Aug. 1 in Chicago and throughout the month visit Toronto, Montreal, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Washington, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles.

Busta Rhymes Says Trick or TreatRap star Busta Rhymes has signed on to appear in Halloween 8, along with Tyra Banks and Sean Patrick Thomas, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The long-running horror franchise and its legendary killer, Michael Myers will get new life in the eighth installment, which will see a group of teens enter Myers' home to set up a live Internet chat, according to the paper. Busta Rhymes has previously appeared in Shaft 2000 and Finding Forrester and he recently wrapped a role in The Narc, which is due later this year.

Gabriel, Plant to Play U.S. WOMADFestival founder Peter Gabriel will perform at this summer's WOMAD Festival, as will former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant. The U.S. edition of the worldwide festival series will be held July 27-29 in Redmond, Wash. Also on the bill are the Neville Brothers, Youssou N'Dour, Steel Pulse, and David Lindley. Tickets for the festival go on sale Friday through Ticketmaster and the festival Web site, womad.org.
