Furlong Allegedly Hospitalized After Party Scare
April 26 -- Eddie Furlong is allegedly back on the party scene after cleaning up his act last fall, and the results aren't pretty. According to the New York Post's Page Six column, the young actor was hospitalized Tuesday after friends believed he'd overdosed.
Furlong, who said in December that he'd joined Alcoholics Anonymous and had completed rehab, was allegedly rushed to the emergency room after his date found him lying in a puddle of his own vomit outside a Los Angeles bar. Two separate records officials at Cedars-Sinai Hospital confirmed to the Post that the actor was admitted Tuesday night and released Wednesday morning, a charge Furlong's rep denies.
"I talked to Eddie at 7 p.m. [Tuesday] and he was fine, I don't know what you are talking about," publicist David Lust told the paper. Lust did not immediately return calls to Mr. Showbiz.
In December, Furlong admitted to US Weekly that he detoxed after his pals warned him he was indulging too much. "My friends were like, 'Eddie, you're drinking too much, you're out too much, you've got to, like, slow down,'" the waifish star said.
Furlong, whose next project is Terminator 3 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, is reportedly back on the L.A. club circuit. "He looked like hell," a source told Page Six. "He was completely out of it."
Last fall, Furlong told Mr. Showbiz that he was not a heavy drinker but did enjoy alcohol in moderation. "I never puked at a bar," he said. "I've been drunk at a bar. I've been at a bar, and I've been, like, 'Oh, God, I'm spinning. I'm drunk and I need to go home.' … But that's about it."
