Rohm Reports to Law & Order

Law & Order is replacing one legal tough cookie with another. NBC has quickly found a replacement for Angie Harmon in actress Elisabeth Rohm.

Rohm's credits include a stint on TNT's financial drama Bull and a recurring role as a hard-nosed cop on the WB's Angel.

As the incoming assistant district attorney, Rohm's character will be a forceful young prosecutor with a Harvard Law Review background who works with Jack McCoy (Sam Waterson) according to Variety.

"I first worked with Liz three years ago [on the Fox pilot The Invisible Man] and I have watched her develop into one of the finest young actresses working in television," producer Dick Wolf said in a statement. "Both [executive producer/head writer] Barry Schindel and I look forward to introducing another new and unique member of the Law & Order family."

Rohm's first appearance on Law will be the show's 12th season premiere.

Harmon, who played take-no-prisoners assistant district attorney Abbie Carmichael, announced earlier this month that she'd be leaving the legal drama after three seasons to focus on her upcoming marriage and her film career.
