April 13 -- Two members of ER's medical team are trading in scrubs for film scripts at least temporarily. Noah Wyle (Dr. Carter) and Maura Tierney (Abby Lockhart) are both shooting feature films this month, as their hit NBC series wraps for the season.

Wyle will snuggle up to screen wife Renée Zellweger for the drama White Oleander, Variety reports. The couple serves as foster parents for a young woman who has been abandoned by her mother (Michelle Pfeiffer) when mom goes to jail for murder.

But that's not all on young Dr. Carter's plate; Wyle is also set to join Jennifer Lopez in the dark thriller Enough.

Tierney, who has appeared in Forces of Nature and Primary Colors, will co-star as Al Pacino's love interest in a remake of the 1997 Norwegian thriller Insomnia.

Robin Williams, Hilary Swank, and Boston Public's Nicky Katt also star in the film. Christopher Nolan, who is receiving kudos for his noir-ish Memento, is directing the project, which goes before cameras next week.

George Clooney, who knows a thing or two about ER, and Traffic director Steven Soderbergh are executive producers on the project.

The original Insomnia was directed by Erik Skjoldbjaerg, who recently helmed Prozac Nation, which starred Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård (Good Will Hunting).
