Popular live act the Dave Matthews Band was forced to cancel a gig — in its home town of Charlottesville, Va., no less — because of insufficient ticket sales, according to The Associated Press. The band had already sold out an April 21 show in Charlottesville, which launches the band's nationwide tour in support of new album Everyday. The 50,000 tickets sold for the first show raised $850,000 for the band's Bama Works charity, which supports community service in central Virginia. But apparently the band was pushing its luck hoping to sell another 50,000 tickets in the town, whose population is around 40,000.

The Who's Daltrey Dons Priest Collar

Roger Daltrey, singer for classic rock act The Who, will don the black suit and white collar of a Catholic priest for Witchblade, a new one-hour television series on TNT beginning in June. The 57-year-old vocalist, who sang such hits as "My Generation" and "Magic Bus," will play a clergyman caught up in a dispute between the pope and the Nazis, according to The Associated Press. Daltrey has appeared in numerous movies before, including the 1994 western Lightning Jack with Paul Hogan.

Suge Knight Changes Facilities, Nears Release

Imprisoned label boss Marion "Suge" Knight may be nearing the end of his stint in jail. On April 22, Knight will be transferred from the Mule Creek State Prison, near Sacramento, Calif., to another federal facility, according to the Los Angeles Times. If all goes well, he could be released three months after that. Knight began serving his sentence in 1996 for violating probation due to his involvement in an assault at a hotel in Las Vegas. Knight's Death Row Records, which was hugely influential in the early '90s, is now besieged by lawsuits and a depleted roster — though the label recently scored big with Until the End of Time, a No. 1 album from the late rapper Tupac Shakur.
