Film Notes: J.Lo, De Niro May Team Up

Jennifer Lopez and Robert De Niro are in talks to do a remake of the 1955 Doris Day-James Cagney musical romance Love Me or Leave Me.

There is no start date yet, and both actors are expected take on another film project before Love Me.

The movie is the story of Ruth Etting, a 1930s singer who used her connections with the mob to further her career.

13 Days in Cuba

Kevin Costner is in Cuba to show his movie Thirteen Days. But will Fidel Castro be watching?

The Hollywood Reporter says a Cuban film organization has arranged public screenings of the missile crisis flick, and has invited Cuban government officials who were involved in the Cold War confrontation to discuss the film with producers afterward.

The movie will also be shown in Moscow, featuring discussions with Russians who were involved in the crisis. Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara and former White House counsel Ted Sorensen are also scheduled to participate in the Moscow event.

Celebrity B&B

Mamie and Garry Pound of Columbus, Ga., really had a full house last month — and it was filled with none other than Mel Gibson, Greg Kinnear, Keri Russel, Chris Klein and Madeleine Stowe.

The stars, who were in town filming We Were Soldiers Once … And Young, took over the Pounds' bed and breakfast, and the Pounds moved out while they were there.

"We bathed the kids in a sink and showered at the Y, but we'd do it all over again," Garry said. "Every one of our rooms was booked for a month. That doesn't happen often."

It was a minor miracle that the celebs weren't found out while in the small town. "We had to lie," said Mary Dana Knight, who helps Mamie Pound prepare meals. "We'd receive telephone calls all the time asking if Mel was staying here. We'd have to say no."
