Brando to Appear in 'Scary Movie' Sequel?

L O S  A N G E L E S, April 10 -- Marlon Brando is alegendary actor known for such classic films as A StreetcarNamed Desire, On the Waterfront and Scary Movie 2?

Producers of Scary Movie, one of last summer's biggest and silliest hits, said today that Brando had agreed toappear in the sequel, which they are touting as the 77-year-oldactor's first "flat-out comic role."

A spokesman for Brando, who appears alongside Robert De Niroand Edward Norton in this year's drama The Score, said hecould not confirm the deal.

A Cool Million for a Cameo?

"In an unprecedented move, Dimension Films has landed movieicon Marlon Brando in a wild, comedic turn," Dimension Filmsco-chairman Bob Weinstein said in a statement.

"He will join the offbeat comic genius of Keenan IvoryWayans [and] brothers Shawn and Marlon Wayans in their reprisalScary Movie 2," Weinstein said. Keenan Ivory Wayans directedScary Movie, which was written by Shawn and Marlon Wayans.

Weinstein said Brando agreed to the part described onlyas that of a priest who performs a "supernatural exorcism" after meeting Keenan Ivory Wayans and finding a "kinship withhis brand of comedy."

Weinstein offered no details on Brando's compensation buttrade newspaper Daily Variety reported in it's "Dish" columnthat the actor had been offered $1 million for a cameo role.

Scary Movie 2 will also star Anna Faris, Regina Hall andTori Spelling in an ensemble cast.
