April 3 -- Nashville favorite Dolly Parton is heading west for Hollywood once again.

The 55-year-old country singer has signed on to a role in Disney comedy Frank McKlusky, C.I., according to The Hollywood Reporter. (Wall of Sound is owned by The Walt Disney Company.)

Parton will play the mother of the title character, an over-eager insurance claims investigator played by Dave Sheridan.

Apparently, the plucky country diva is not so averse to being thought of as a mother, as some might have thought at February's Grammy Awards. Parton had the best one-liner of the evening, when she said of Best New Artist nominee Brad Paisley, "I'm old enough to be his lover."

Parton, who won Best Bluegrass Album honors at this year's Grammy Awards and released her second bluegrass disc, Little Sparrow, in March, made her silver-screen debut 21 years ago with a leading role in Nine to Five. She also starred in 1989's Steel Magnolias and most recently played herself in 1993's Beverly Hillbillies.

Variety reports that the singer is also considering a role as actress Mae West in a television biography on ABC.
