March 8 -- When it debuted last fall on CBS, critics predicted that Yes, Dear wouldn't be around long. Defying those doomsayers, the first-year show is now the only freshman comedy to be renewed by the network.

CBS announced that it is bringing back its entire Monday night comedy lineup for the 2001-2002 season, including, yes, Yes, Dear.

Also getting another year's reprieve are Monday night brethren Becker, starring Ted Danson, and Kevin James' The King of Queens, which are now both in their third season.

The network previously trumpeted its three-year renewal of Everybody Loves Raymond, its Monday night mainstay.

Not so lucky this season are Bette Midler's vehicle, Bette, which has been axed, and Welcome to New York, which is on hiatus.

Although no announcement has been made, CBS is sure to renew this season's breakout dramatic series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which has been a recent ratings winner in the Thursday night time slot after Survivor: The Australian Outback.

CBS has three other first-year shows awaiting a decision: Friday night series The Fugitive and Saturday night shows That's Life and The District.
