March 1 -- The Fugitive's Tim Daly was one of the unfortunate souls caught in Seattle's 6.8 magnitude earthquake Wednesday. The star was still in bed on the 25th floor of his hotel when the temblor hit at 10:55 a.m. PST.

(Hey, we wish we had his schedule the Mr. Showbiz Seattle office was hard at work when the quake hit. Staffers were evacuated and the building was shut down for the rest of the day.)

Daly, who turns 45 today, tells Variety's Army Archerd, "The building was swaying, the Venetian blinds kept shaking for a minute and a half. I looked out at Mount Rainier and I kept thinking, "It's going to erupt!"

The mountain did not erupt, but plenty of other havoc reigned during the 45-second quake, including severe damage to many of downtown's historic brick buildings. TV news crews caught the worst damage to buildings such as the Pioneer Square bar The Fenix Underground a location used as a backdrop in at least one Fugitive episode, in which Seattle stood in for Philadelphia.

Luckily, the cast and crew weren't filming downtown that day. Daly had a 2 p.m. call for a location in Everett, north of Seattle, on Wednesday. CBS publicist Beth Haiken tells Mr. Showbiz that there was no structural damage to the series' set in the town of Mukilteo.

"They were pretty much shaken, rattled, and rolled," Haiken said of the show's cast and crew, adding, "No one was hurt, but it was the obvious topic of conversation."

Meanwhile, another catastrophe may be looming for the CBS series: cancellation. The network announces its fall schedule in May, and it's not clear whether the Friday night series, which has struggled to find its audience, will be picked up for a second season. Haiken says that it's "premature" to talk about next season at this point.

The series has been "sexed up" recently, with the hunky fugitive doc shacking up oh-so-briefly with a lovely bed-and-breakfast owner (Stacy Edwards).

Daly has received a welcome SAG nod for the series, but lost out at this year's TV Guide Awards.
