Puffy Confirms Breakup With J.Lo

Feb. 14 -- Valentine's Day was a heartbreaker for Sean"Puffy" Combs, who confirmed his breakup with singer-actressJennifer Lopez.

"Mr. Combs confirmed that he and his love Jennifer Lopez havein fact broken up," his publicist Nathalie Moar said today.

Putting Rumors to Rest

A breakup has been rumored for weeks. The performers have spentconsiderable time apart because she's promoting an album and he'sbeen on trial in New York on weapons and bribery charges stemmingfrom a 1999 nightclub shooting.

"Mr. Combs is confirming this today as he wanted to put all therumors surrounding their relationship to rest. At this difficulttime we ask that you respect his privacy," Moar said.

Lopez spokesman Alan Nierob said he couldn't reach the singer,who was in Australia promoting her album J.Lo. Combs producedfour tracks on the album.

Combs and Lopez got together recently in a failed effort to workthings out.

"The breakup happened the last couple of days. They willcontinue to be friends and he supports her, but the relationship isover," the source said.
