February 2 -- Outkast Quits European Tour

Outkast has jumped ship from a European tour, where the duo was opening for Eminem, so that Big Boi can join his pregnant girlfriend whose baby is due soon in the United States. The rappers will miss shows Feb. 5 in Belgium; Feb. 6 in Paris; Feb. 8 in Manchester, England; and three show in London, Feb. 9-11, the last of which Outkast was scheduled to headline. A representative told the British press that the band wants to return to the United Kingdom as soon as possible and that ticket holders for the solo show are urged to hold on to their tickets.

Drummer Says Farewell to KISS' Farewell

Maybe hard-rock quartet KISS was taking too long in its farewell. Original drummer Peter Criss who quit the band in 1980 before rejoining in 1996 has left the band, whose farewell tour began in March and may still have a long road ahead of it. Criss will be replaced at the kit by Eric Singer, who drummed with the band for several years, beginning in 1991. No reason was given for the lineup swap, but the conflicts might not be through Singer reportedly has overlapping engagements drumming for Alice Cooper.

Destiny's Child, Coldplay Added to Brit Lineup

R&B trio Destiny's Child, British rocker outfit Coldplay, and pop singer Sonique have been added to the lineup of performers at the 2001 Brit Awards, held in London on Feb. 26. Already scheduled to perform are Craig David, Westlife, Robbie Williams, and U2. Eminem has been mentioned as a possible performer, as he has with the Grammy Awards, but nothing is confirmed. David, a British R&B newcomer, is set to dominate the awards with six nominations, a record for the Brits.
