January 26 -- More than 30 fans were reportedly injured in a crowd crush during a Limp Bizkit headlining performance earlier today at the Big Day Out festival in Sydney, Australia.

A section of the crowd next to the stage at Stadium Australia fell to the ground, according to British music magazine NME, and the rap-rock act halted its set for 15 minutes, while an organizer asked the crowd to move back.

About 30 people were pulled from the crowd and treated for small injuries and heat exhaustion at an onsite ambulance, though one woman suffered a heart attack and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to the magazine.

Police asked Limp Bizkit to continue its set after 15 minutes and later issued a statement saying, "If we stopped the concert there would have been a riot. There was a swelling movement in the crowd, which caused it to collapse."

Concert promoters released a statement, praising Limp Bizkit's cooperation, saying, "Several times during their performance, Limp Bizkit urged the audience to step back and assist fellow concertgoers in need of assistance, and promoters compliment the band's diligence in this."

With temperatures well above 100 degrees in the midst of Australia's summer, fire trucks at the scene sprayed the crowd with water for relief from the heat.

Australia's massive Big Day Out festival, which moves to several locations throughout the summer, drew more than 55,000 to its Sydney staging, where acts such as At the Drive-In, Queens of the Stone Age, Coldplay, and PJ Harvey joined Limp Bizkit.
