Something about autumn in New York makes it attractive for celebs looking to get hitched. Last November, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones ushered their guests past security barricades and curious Manhattanites for a swank ceremony at the Plaza Hotel by Central Park. That same weekend, Drew Barrymore and Tom Green planned a live wedding on a Saturday Night Live broadcast at NBC's New York studios — but the bride-to-be nixed it at the last minute.
This fall, the famous couple walking down a Big Apple aisle is said to be director-actor Edward Burns and his supermodel gal, Christy Turlington. Though the two have been dating for just four months, Burns popped the question, a source tells US Weekly.
The yoga-obsessed Turlington, who recently revealed that she has early-stage emphysema, has been fluttering about breaking the good news to her friends, the mag reports. Burns' rep claimed to not know of any wedding plans — but then again, we've heard that song-and-dance before.
If Burns and Turlington are indeed tying the knot this fall, it'll be a rapid Hollywood courtship. Burns split from longtime girlfriend Heather Graham in May. Turlington and Jason Patric, her partner of five years, called it quits shortly thereafter. Burns and his alleged fiancée began dating in September.
