January 15 -- Red-hot rap duo Outkast will share its rhyming art with the nation, hitting 28 cities in an extensive tour with novice rapper Ludacris.

Rappers Big Boi and Dre achieved great success on the pop charts as well as the critics' lists with their fourth album, Stankonia. The LP came in at No. 2 just short of beating rap giant Jay-Z after their albums debuted head-to-head Oct. 31. The Atlanta rappers have showed more staying power, however, as they remain at No. 7 on the Billboard charts in their 10th week out.

Their clever rhymes often play off their contrasting personalities as poet (Dre) and player (Big Boi), set against a background of funk-fueled beats.

Ludacris, also from Atlanta, was the first artist to sign to Def Jam's new imprint, Def Jam South. His debut, Back for the First Time, was released in October and featured work on the dials from acclaimed producer Timbaland.
