January 2 -- Though she played a free-spirited groupie in Almost Famous, Kate Hudson has settled down to become an official rock-and-roll wife.

The 21-year-old actress wed Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson, 34, in a New Year's Eve ceremony at the Aspen, Colo., ranch owned by Hudson's mother, Goldie Hawn, and Hawn's longtime partner, Kurt Russell.

Hudson's rep, Brad Cafarelli, confirmed the marriage to Reuters. Rumors of a Dec. 31 ceremony had been rippling through the tabloids prior to the holiday nuptials.

Hawn and Russell were among the 70 guests at the evening ceremony. Russell, whom Hudson has called dad for most of her life, gave the bride away. Hudson's estranged natural father, comedian Bill Hudson, was not present, Cafarelli said Monday.

Hudson's maid of honor was her friend Dyani Redclay, while Robinson's best man was his younger brother and bandmate, Rich. The other members of the Black Crowes attended, but there were no other famous names, Cafarelli said.

Hudson, Hawn, and Redclay wore Vera Wang gowns, while the Robinson lads and Russell were fitted with Brioni suits. Cafarelli noted that Hudson's dress consisted of a corseted bodice and large hoop skirt, in keeping with the event's romantic, 19th-century theme. He declined to comment on the content of the couple's vows.

The couple was still at the ranch Monday, with Hudson due to fly to London next week to begin filming the epic war drama Four Feathers, which also stars Wes Bentley and Heath Ledger.

Robinson gave Hudson a large diamond ring in August, and despite her earlier denials that the rock signaled wedding bells, rumors dogged the happy couple. Hudson and Robinson had been dating for about a year. This is the first marriage for both.
