November 30 -- Far be it from us to laugh at anyone's pain, but on Wednesday, Just Shoot Me star David Spade lived out his sitcom's title all too literally.

The 36-year-old comic actor was attacked in his Beverly Hills, Calif., home by a stun-gun-wielding assailant allegedly his own personal assistant! The man, one David Malloy of Los Angeles, was supposedly attempting to rob his celebrity boss, police said.

Spade suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics on the scene, police Sgt. Tom Van Ausdell told The Associated Press.

Malloy had fled by the time police arrived at Spade's home, but officers caught up with him hours later. He was booked on suspicion of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault with a stun gun, police said. Bail was set at $50,000.

Besides his role on NBC's Just Shoot Me, Spade is known for his years on Saturday Night Live and his comic team-ups with the late Chris Farley in films like Black Sheep.
