November 9 -- Titanic starlet Kate Winslet seems to be forever living a waterlogged existence. Just a few months after the 25-year-old British actress and her husband, Jim Threapleton, were supposedly spotted skinny-dipping in the icy waters outside their remote home, they're fighting to save the new property from being flooded.

Winslet and Threapleton, who have a 3-week-old daughter, are using sandbags in an attempt to block their island residence, which sits in the midst of the swelling River Thames in southern England, from being soaked by rising flood waters.

"If it gets any worse, we will have to think about evacuating. We are just keeping our fingers crossed," Threapleton, 26, told the London Mirror tabloid.

This is one of the country's worst floods in 50 years. The BBC reports that in parts of England, flood waters are likely to drop in the next few days. Thousands of residents have been evacuated from their homes.

Winslet and Threapleton were virtually marooned when the only road connecting the island to the mainland was rendered impassable by floodwaters, the paper said.

Winslet is not the only celebrity affected by the rising waters. Her neighborhood is filled with stars' homes, since it is easily accessible from London. Boyzone singer Ronan Keating, talk show host Michael Parkinson, and Australian entertainer Rolf Harris also have homes in flooded areas, the Mirror said.
