Singer Tori Amos Gives Birth to Girl

Sept. 7 -- Eccentric songstress Tori Amos and husband Mark Hawley announced the arrival of a baby daughter.

The as-yet-untitled new release was delivered on Tuesday, weighing in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce and measuring 21 inches in length. Both mother and daughter are reportedly in splendid condition.

This is the first child for Amos and Hawley, a recording engineer. The duo met at Hawley’s Cornwall, England, studio, where Amos recorded her fourth full-length album, From The Choirgirl Hotel. The couple married in 1998 at a medieval castle in the United Kingdom.

Upon feeding the tyke for the first time, the new mom quipped that “an ounce of breast milk is even more potent than the finest tequila.” We’ll stick to Petrón, thanks.
