Nick Cannon on Being White: 'Big Difference Between Humor and Hatred'

The actor has been dressing as a white man to promote his new album.

March 25, 2014 — -- Nick Cannon has a new alter ego.

With his album, "White People Party Music" coming out April 1, the actor and "America's Got Talent" host introduced Connor Smallnut to everyone on Instagram.

Cannon, 33, sported a flannel, white paint on his face and hands and a wig.

He also has glasses and a California surfer-dude accent.

He even did "on the street" interviews dressed as Connor.

In response to any backlash, Cannon recalled another actor who changed his color.

"Shout out to @RobertDowneyJr This is one of my favorite characters of all time! Hilarious!!! There is a big difference between Humor and Hatred," he wrote.

Cannon, who is married to Mariah Carey and has two children Moroccan and Monroe, was referring to Downey's character in "Tropic Thunder," who wore a blackface as an actor in the movie.
