Hells Angels Reportedly Tried to Kill Jagger

Report says gang, angered over singer's statements, tried to kill him in 1969.

LONDON, March 2, 2008 — -- A new BBC radio documentary says Mick Jaggerdodged an assassination plot back in 1969.

The program airing Monday says the Rolling Stones star was thetarget of the American motorcycle gang, Hells Angels.

It saysmembers were enraged by Jagger's vow to stop using Hells Angels asbouncers at his concerts after an 18-year-old fan was killed atconcert in California.

The program's host tells a British paper the gang membershatched a plot to kill Jagger at his home on New York's LongIsland.

The bikers planned to get there by boat, but were alltossed overboard in a storm. They survived but, according to thedocumentary, made no further attempts on Jagger's life.
