— -- It's hard to believe that Sylvester Stallone is 70 today.

The Hollywood legend still maintains his action-star physique and his place atop the A-list after writing and starring in three "Expendables" movies with his fellow aging action stars. He's expected to begin filming the fourth movie in the franchise this fall.

His year already got off to a great start after he won a Golden Globe and was nominated for his first Oscar in 40 years for reprising one of his best-known characters, Rocky Balboa, in "Creed."

One of Hollywood's original heartthrobs, Stallone has previously said that he's not "handsome in the classical sense."

"The eyes droop, the mouth is crooked, the teeth aren't straight, the voice sounds like a Mafioso pallbearer, but somehow it all works," he's been quoted as saying.

And it seems to be still working for him. Stallone is part of a group of male stars who seem to get better with age. Here are some other sexy silver foxes who are 60 or older:

Bruce Willis:

Stallone's co-star in the "Expendables" movies, Bruce Willis, 61, shows no signs of slowing down. In 2015, he starred in three films and has three more out this year. At home, he's a dad to two young girls with wife Emma Heming and his three older daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore.

Denzel Washington:

Once People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, Denzel Washington is aging with grace. At 61, the two-time Oscar winner and father of four still exudes charm and charisma and plenty of sex appeal with his expressive eyes and winning smile.

Liam Neeson:

At 64, Liam Neeson has breathed new life in his career by taking on action roles. Nominated for an Oscar in 1994 for "Schindler’s List," the Irish actor told reporters at the Toronto Film Festival in 2013 that he switched to action movies after his 2008 film "Taken" was a hit.

The studios are "dumb enough to offer them to me. It’s like, I’m 61 years of age. I mean, come on. It’s a joke. It’s like," he said, miming talking into a phone, "'How much? OK, I’ll be there.’"

Mark Harmon:

Another former Sexiest Man Alive, Mark Harmon seems to be aging like a fine wine. At 64, he helms the most watched show on television, "NCIS," playing a former U.S. Marine turned NCIS agent since 2003. Even more impressive, he's been married to wife Pam Dawber, of "Mork and Mindy" fame, since 1987, and they have two sons together.

Pierce Brosnan:

At 63, Pierce Brosnan truly embodies the silver fox. The dapper Irishman told The Huffington Post in 2014 that aging is "grace under pressure." "You have to embrace it," he said. "It takes strength to live life whatever age you are. There's a certain sense of power and contentment that comes with it, that I'm still at the table as an actor making a living."
