— -- Ted Danson is a TV rock star. Think “Cheers.” Think “CSI: Cyber.” Think “Fargo.”

He has two Emmys under his belt and just as many Golden Globe Awards. Still, something just isn't quite right. Danson, who played the lead character in “Cheers,” just revealed to ABC News that he doesn’t know the theme song to the sitcom.

"I don't,” Danson said. “Give me the line because I don’t know the lyrics.”

Seriously?! How is this possible when just about any random person on the street could spout out the tune in mere seconds?

“I will reach over and smack you, Peter, if you ask me to sing a song,” Danson said jokingly to Peter Travers while pretending to do just that.

While we try to wrap our heads around America's favorite bartender not knowing the lyrics to arguably one of America's all-time favorite theme songs, let's move on to Danson's newest venture. He’s starring in FX's hit series “Fargo,” now in its sophomore season. He plays the role of Hank Larsson, a sheriff in the local police department.

“Hank has seen his share of violence, but the human race kind of confuses him,” Danson, 67, said. “He actually thinks a lot about what would make the planet a better place. He’ll stand up against six bad guys knowing that he’s not going to come out of it alive. And yet that’s his job, so he will do it.”

In the real world, Danson is married to Oscar-winner Mary Steenburgen. The couple just recently celebrated 20 years of marriage. A beaming Danson may be her biggest supporter.

“I’m so happy for her. She’s one of our really, really great actors,” Danson said. “And we get to get up every morning and go to work. We are incredibly blessed.”
