— -- Zac Efron is apologizing for an "insensitive" comment he posted on Twitter on Martin Luther King Day.

On Monday, Efron received backlash from fans after he posted a tweet that related his appreciation for Martin Luther King Jr. to his appreciation for his 10 million Instagram followers.

On Tuesday night, Efron, 28, apologized to his fans, stating that he has "nothing but the greatest admiration & respect for MLK."

"My last post was insensitive & I apologize to anyone who I offended. So sorry," the "Neighbors 2" actor wrote.

The original MLK Day tweet has since been deleted from Efron's Twitter account.
