Nov. 27, 2007 — -- It's that time of year again crisp snowfalls and shopping malls, Christmas carols and Santa Claus.

But in many places across the country the holiday season is all about one thing the lights!

Marshall, Texas, is home to the annual Wonderland of Lights celebration, where more than 10 million lights illuminate the town.

The folks in Milwaukee, Wis., get in on the lighting action with their Holiday Lights Festival, turning downtown into a twinkling wonderland.

It's not just big cities that know how to kick off the season. Plenty of homeowners give new meaning to the term "holiday cheer."

Rich and Leslie's home in Northbridge, Mass., sits at the corner of a busy intersection, and they decorate their house and yard for everyone to enjoy.

With more than 100,00 lights, it takes the couple six weeks to decorate their Christmas spectacular, which is set to music.

Keith from Escondido, Calif., decks out his house with more than 62,000 lights, five window displays and a 7-foot Santa. His display actually melted the city power lines one year.

Over the next few days, "Good Morning America" will flip the switch, revealing live some of of the most dazzling holiday displays across the country, and even teach you how to make your display more eco-friendly.

There's a a self-described technology nerd in Tyler, Texas, who has an enormous, environmentally friendly light display synchronized to rock music and uses no more electricity than a blow dryer, and an eight-block neighborhood in Los Angeles called "Candy Cane Lane," where each homeowner is expected to decorate, to name just a few.
