PHOTOS: A Late August Lunar Eclipse

Michael Daughterty of Santa Ana, Calif., took this photo of a total eclipse. This lunar eclipse began at 12:54 a.m. PDT (3:54 a.m. EDT). At about 2:52 a.m. PDT the color of the moon changed from gray to sunset red, according to NASA. (Michael Daughterty/SpaceWeather.com )
