July 1, 2006 — -- Summer is here, so don't get stuck in last year's bathing suit! Update your look with the hot new trends in this season's beachwear. From string bikinis to Palm Beach glamour, there's something this summer for every different taste. Jacqui Stafford of Shape magazine, along with six models, showed "Good Morning America Weekend Edition" the newest trends in beach attire.

Trend: Bright Colors
Model No. 1: Rebecca
Bikini by Speedo ($46 and $42, sold separately)
Hoodie cover up by Lacoste ($115)
Sunglasses by Cartier ($495)

Brights are a huge trend, and like lipstick, there's a shade of orange for any complexion. This is a really cute, sporty look, and you can easily pair the hoody cover-up with jeans at the end of day. Bright colors are really good with every complexion -- and it really livens up the beach.

Model No. 2: Kairi
Trunks by Nautica ($45 at Macy's)
T-shirt by Lacoste ($72)
Sunglesses by Kenneth Cole ($89)

Guys should really branch out and go for the brights, too -- they don't have to be bland. We flipped this combo to put the print on the top and solid shorts from Nautica on the bottom. You don't want to do bright on top and bottom and shoes -- just pick one item of clothing to make really bright and downplay the rest.

Trend: Metallic
Model No. 3: Losmir
Bikini by DKNY ($88 at Macy's)
Python tunic coverup by Michael Kors ($118 at Neiman Marcus)
Chocolate hat by Flora Bella ($78 at Henri Bendel)

Sophisticated and classy, metallics work perfectly with touches of animal print. This is an easy way to make a bold fashion statement, and the tunic can take you from the beach to the boardwalk if you pair it with this season's skinny white jeans. So if you're going to lunch or an early dinner, you can literally walk from the beach straight to the restaurant. It's a very expensive, luxurious rich look. Plus, it looks fabulous on suntanned skin!

Trend: Nautical
Model No. 4: Kasius
Bikini by Liz Claiborne swimwear ($90 at everythingbutwater.com)
Wrap by Abaete ($385)
Shorts by Stella McCartney for Adidas ($100)
Sunglasses by Cartier ($495)

One of the hottest looks this summer, nautical is classic and preppy. Red and navy are universally flattering, so anyone can wear those colors. Ther are so many options out there in the stores right now, because they're so hot this season. Polka dots, stripes and rope details are seasonless. If you love the nautical look, the obvious choice is to give it a shot at the beach. It's a fun look for anyone -- and where better to wear nautical than at the beach? Plus, this trend never really goes out of fashion -- so you can really carry it to next year.
