Nov. 22, 2011— -- What's one of the most important factors to know in buying your Christmas tree?

Picking a large tree stand is one of the most important decisions you can make towards maintaining your tree's freshness.

By choosing a large capacity stand, your tree will be able to survive off drinking the large amount of water it needs each day.

Typically, a tree uses up to one quart of water per day for each inch of stem diameter. That means that a stand that holds a four-inch trunk should hold around one gallon of water with the tree in the stand.

Also, the color and smell of the tree are only subjective characteristics based upon your preference.
