April 15, 2008 --
Award-winning actress Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda in the upcoming "Sex and the City: The Movie," announced today her partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest breast cancer organization. As an official ambassador of the group, Nixon will share her personal experience as a breast cancer survivor.
Nixon has a unique understanding of how to help others through their experiences, having served as a co-survivor to her mother who battled the disease twice. Through her work with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Nixon aims to empower women to take an active role in their breast health by understanding their bodies and encourage everyone -- even people without a family history -- to take charge and get a mammogram, as early detection is key to saving lives.
Over the next 25 years, more than 10 million women around the world could die from breast cancer. Join Nixon and Susan G. Komen for the Cure's global breast cancer movement by visiting
