Five years ago, Merlyn Oviedo converted his dad's old farmhouse into the Danta Lodge (danta is Spanish for tapir, the animal). He's built the whole thing himself, using only fallen trees or wood from trees his father planted. The lodge's logo of a tapir footprint is embedded everywhere -- from coffee mugs to toilet seats.
