Chef Dominique Ansel's Ginger Molasses Cookies
Star Chef Shares a Holiday Cookie Recipe
Chef Dominique Ansel is the owner of the award-winning Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City. Chef Ansel is also the winner of the James Beard Award in 2014 for "Outstanding Pastry Chef," and rose to fame for his delicious "cronut." Chef Ansel shared his delicious ginger molasses cookie recipe with "Good Morning America."
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg in a mixing bowl.
In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle, cream together butter, sugar and molasses on medium speed until combined.
Add eggs one at a time, stopping the mixer to scrape down sides of the bowl after each egg.
Add in dry ingredients and mix on low until just combined.
Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop balls of dough (about 1.5”) onto a parchment lined baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Bake 6-8 minutes until cookies are just crisp around the edges and slightly soft in the center. Let cool on wire rack.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
