Ali Larter's Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Bruschetta

In her debut cookbook, "Kitchen Revelry," actress Ali Larter shows that, while looking effortless takes some effort, cooking is not about being perfect???it's about having a great time! Impress your guests with Larter's take on the classic bruschetta recipe at your next get together.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups ??-inch sliced heirloom tomatoes (from about 8 large tomatoes)
  • ?? cup plus 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 2 large garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • ?? teaspoon flaked sea salt
  • ?? teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 long baguette, cut on slight diagonal into ??-inch thick slices
  • 16 ounces burrata cheese, drained
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Cooking Directions

    Combine the tomatoes, ?? cup olive oil, garlic, sea salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix gently to blend. Cover and set aside at room temperature for up to 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend.

    Position the rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350??F.

    Arrange the baguette slices in a single layer on 2 large baking sheets, brush with remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

    Bake at 350??F for 6 minutes.

    On a large platter, spoon tomato mixture next to burrata and toasted baguette slices. Garnish with basil leaves.
