As part of "GMA's" $15 Dinner Dare series, each day an anchor will unveil a list of secret ingredients. Then a chef will have to prepare a tempting meal live on the air with the newly unveiled ingredients.

Wolfgang Puck is the fourth and final chef to take on the challenge. Robin Roberts gave him a list of surprise ingredients live on the air today.

Ingredients

  • 4 2-ounce boneless, center-cut pork chops, about 1/4-inch thick each
  • 2 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1 1/2 c. orange juice
  • 2 tbsps. chicken stock (can substitute water)
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsps. butter, softened
  • 2 juice oranges, with zest of one orange reserved
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Cooking Directions

Zest one orange. Then peel the orange with a knife and slice horizontally into 8 thin slices. Peel second orange with a knife and cut it into sections between membranes. Reserve for garnish.

Heat olive oil till smoking in a heavy-bottomed stainless steel pan over high heat. Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper. Add chops and sear until nicely browned on both sides and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Remove chops from pan and allow to rest on a plate.

Use orange juice to deglaze pan. Add chicken stock (or water) and soy sauce. Reduce this until it coats the back of a spoon, about 2 minutes. Remove pan from heat and swirl in the butter and orange zest to make a rich sauce.

Spread two cups of mashed potatoes in the center of a decorative platter. Place pork chops on top of mashed potatoes, and arrange orange slices around them. Top pork with orange sections and spoon sauce over the entire platter. Serve immediately.
