Carolers in Times Square Want to Break Record

Singers Gather in Heart of New York City With Big Goals

Christmas carolers lined up in droves outside "Good Morning America's" studio as part of Old Navy's and Broadway Cares' "Curtain Call for Carolers."

The singers hoped to tackle the Guinness World Record for the largest group of carolers ever.

Edie Falco of the Broadway play "Night Mother," Drew Lachey of the Broadway show "Rent" and cast members from "Avenue Q" joined in the fun as well.

According to Guinness World Records, the existing record to beat for the largest sing-along is 1,175 carolers singing for 15 minutes.

While many turned out for the event in Times Square, the record has not been broken.
