Meanwhile, inspectors in connecticut are trying to determine why a popular carnival ride malfunctioned yesterday, slamming to a halt. Many of the riders were thrown into each other in I hmidair. The rotating swing called the zoomer was packed with children. It jolted to a stop. I heard this crash of all this metal and all the seats clicking together. I looked to my left and I saw the swing ride had collapsed. Reporter: As the ride lost power, it stopped turning. The riders on board kept moving. Colliding into each other. People running in to try to get kids out. Two kids on the floor. Reporter: Connecticut state police say 18 people were injure. 13 people taken to the hospital. Only one admitted for treatment. The company that provide the ride blamed a mechanical malfunction. The company says state officials had just inspected that ride last friday.
