On a lighter note we turn 0 our countdown to Oscar Sunday just one day away from Hollywood's biggest night and the excitement is building, I would say very fast. In the middle of furious rehearsals and we're told that some of the vocal performances are so powerful that they're bringing people to tears. ABC's Chris Connelly got inside access and joins us live from Hollywood. Chris, did you cry? You know, I was verklempt. Good morning, guys. From outside the Dolby theatre and on what will eventually be the red carpet once the rains pass and we get to clear away some of the stuff protecting the carpet and you're right, Oscar's producers lifting the veil for us on the big show giving us news you can use about all kinds of things including the evening's big theme and a host who gets it. ♪ Keep up ♪ Reporter: Neal Marion and Craig zadan say along with entertaining viewers at home host Ellen DeGeneres has a comedic game plan designed to soothe out stressed out nominees. They're scared to death. That's why we won't do all the comedy up front and how they're more and more nervous as the night goes on she can relax them. Reporter: Ellen herself told robin Roberts she'd be getting off the stage and getting into the mix. Because I'll be in the audience a lot. There's going to be a lot of playing with people in the audience. All throughout the show. Reporter: Yes. We're bringing her into the audience so you're getting to hang out with Ellen. Reporter: They offered more tasty teases about what viewers can look forward to. ♪ Come clean ♪ Reporter: Including news of one powerhouse pop star. What can we expect pink do. Here's the big reveal. Pink is going to sing. We're able to utilize pink in the Oscar show in a way that the audience is not expecting to see her. Reporter: You have a theme of heroes. Animated heroes, everyday heros from at cuss finch to Norma Rae from harry potter to Indiana Jones. Reporter: The actor playing "The amazing spider-man" will figure prominently. There's going to be a new superhero inducted into the fraternity of superheroes. Reporter: How did you get Bette midler who never performed on the oscars. We want to get on the show. We went to rehearsals the other day and she has you in tears. Reporter: A super tight best picture race will cause some excitement too. What makes this statue different from all other statues? That is the Mt. Olympus of awards. That's something that I hope everybody aspires to do. Reporter: So pink will sing. Bette midler will sing. I on the other hand will not.
