Prosecutors say he ambushed and executed two men he met at a Boston nightclub. ABC's Ryan smith. You're back with more on this. Reporter: That's right. Good morning. And Aaron Hernandez sits in jail as we speak. But now, he's facing new charges in a totally different case, which if convicted, could keep him in prison for a long time. NFL star, Aaron Hernandez, awaiting trial in the 2013 death of Odin Lloyd, for which he has pleaded not guilty, now faces new charges. A double-murder in a shooting before Lloyd's death. Suffolk county charging Aaron Hernandez for two counts of first-degree murder, for the shooting deaths of Daniel deabreu, and safiro Furtado. Reporter: Prosecutors reve revealing point-by-point details about the killings. They say Hernandez entered the cure lounge in Boston at 12:30 A.M. Their chance encounter inside the club, triggered a series of events that culminated in these murders. Reporter: An hour and a half later, the victims leave the club, unaware a SUV, police say driven by Hernandez, was trailing them. Then, at a nearby stoplight, Hernandez allegedly pulled up to the vehicle and fired multiple times. Hernandez's lawyers responded to the charges saying, quote, Aaron Hernandez is innocent of these charges. And he looks forward to his day in court. Just six weeks after the alleged double-murder, Hernandez signed a $40 million deal with the new England patriots. Saying afterwards, he was a new man. It changed me as a person. You can't come here and act reckless and do your own stuff. Reporter: Raising the question, could it be possible to lead such a dramatic double-life? What are you going to do? Are you going to hire security guards to follow 53 guys around? I think this is way beyond the peal. Reporter: The families of the victims in this case have filed a wrongful death suit against Hernandez. As the case goes forward, the case of Odin Lloyd will go first.
