For the first time since this trial began, nigella lawson's former assistant is in the witness box giving evidence. And this morning, shocking testimony from her. Accusing nigella of lying in court about the extent of her drug use. Making stunning claims in court, nigella's former assistant, elisabetta grillo, says the celebrity tv chef took cocaine regularly. Quoting her testimony, that she took it seven times in her life, simply untrue. Having people around my table makes me happy. Reporter: Although she said she never witnessed nigella taking drugs. She said she saw evidence of her drug use, quote, every three days. Questioning the admissions last week when she said, quote, the idea that I'm a drug addict or habitual user of cocaine is absolutely ridiculous. Elisabetta told the jury she found a packet of white powder. Saying, quote, I opened it because it was kind of a little funny envelope. And I saw white powder. Her and her sister, francesca, are accused of embezzling more than $1 million of nigella and her ex-husband, multimillionaire charles sachi. They're pleading not guilty to fraud. Even the prime minister of the country is declaring he's on team nigella. Speaking to "the spectator" magazine, david cameron said, I'm a massive fan. I've had the great pleasure of meeting her a couple of times. She strikes me as a funny and warm person. The judge hitting back in court, telling the jury to ignore the prime minister's comments.
