Transcript for Christian Slater is Back in 'Mind Games'
Starting next Tuesday and not a day too soon Christian slater back to prime time television in a new series called "Mind games." He plays an ex-con who teams up with his brilliant but bipolar brother to start a company where their specialty is convincing people to do things they might not, well, have thought they wanted to do. Take a look. Do you seriously think you can pull this off? I've always wondered if these elms could be isolated outside the lab, but, yes. Because if this blows up in our faces -- what the hell is she doing here? Who's that? My ex-wife. Our new office manager. What? Hi. So it's good. And needs a bit of explanation. So essentially the mind manipulation business as a business. Right. Between two brothers. Elaborate if you will. Yeah, it's a new concept, new idea. These two brothers start this company with this sort of ragtag team of people and it's basically employing these psychological techniques to get people to say yes when they've been saying no. It's like if an insurance company has been saying no to doing a particular kind of surgery, we can employ these psychological ma nip layings to kind of get them to turn their eyes around. I can imagine first of all reads the script. Mind-blowing. When I saw it I rewound it to try to figure it out but it will rise and fall with you and Steve so the two of you together. Well, when I heard that he was cast to play my brother I was thrilled. He's a great, great guy. I mean I think I genuinely do love him and we had a great time on the show and he's -- he's just a very impressive actor. The creator of the show Kyle Killen is a great writer and wrote some very extensive things and there is some scientific stuff in it that Steve was really more responsible delivering that end of it because he is the psychological genius of the show and I'm sort of the audience member type character constantly asking him what did you just say? I'm always rewinding it for the audience. You're shooting this in Chicago, as well but I love this. Makes me happy. Forrest gump'd your way into a perfect life in Miami. So how has it been with new wife Brittany and Fam. You know, so far, so good. It's been great. She's got a great family and we've been very happy and certainly after, oh, there we are, yeah, shooting in Miami -- shooting in Chicago was very cold. We were right there in the middle of the polar vortex but we got through it together and it was nice to kind of have Miami as the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm just happy to have on our air a real think piece. Really excited for you, Christian, seriously. Again, it is "Mind games." Series premiere next Tuesday, 10:00 eastern, 9:00 central right here on ABC. Christian, thanks so much. Thanks for having me.
