We're going to turn to washington now, where president obama's nominee for defense secretary has hit another speed bump. Key senate republicans are holding up the confirmation vote for their former colleague, chuck hagel. Can this delay derail the nomination? Let's bring in jon karl. He made it through the armed services committee. Why the holdup now? Reporter: Republicans are demanding more information about his background. They have a long letter, detailing questions about the work he did after he left the senate. And they will not allow an up-or-down vote. Other senators want information on the attack in benghazi. But the bottom line is, democrats will try to force a vote as early as today, maybe tomorrow. But they will need 60 votes to get him confirmed, at least now. And right now, a top senate democrat told me they don't think they have the votes. They don't have the votes, even if there's 65 senate democrat republicans said they won't filibuster this nomination. Reporter: They're not filibustering.
