And now to that fatal ACCIDENT AT THE CIRQUE du SOLEIL In las vegas. A veteran performer plugging to her death even though she was supposed to be attached to a safety wire. There are serious questions this morning about what may have gone wrong. Abc's neal karlinsky is in las vegas with the very latest on this, neal, good morning. Reporter: Amy, good morning, this is a hugely popular show here in las vegas, in fact, the audience at the time was filled with people of all ages, family members, many of them wondering if this was all somehow just part of the show. ♪ tarantula near the end of the second show of the night saturday and longtime performer 31-year-old sarah guyard-guillot was reportedly acting out a battle scene high up on a wall suspended by wires when something went wrong and she suddenly dropped falling to an unseen pit below the performers. She was screaming as she was falling down and it was sort of out of a movie where she was just trying to grab for anything. Reporter: Arian was morning the horrified audience members including children who at first didn't know if it was part of the show or not then suddenly the music cut out abruptly and screams and tears could be heard coming from the stage. They stopped the music after maybe like 10, 15 seconds or so and the actors were just kind of staring down at where she had fallen. Reporter: Cirque du soleil seen here in video provided by the production is defined by the amazing high-flying acrobatics of its performers but in 30 years there's never been a death. "I'm heartbroken. I wish to extend my sincerest sympathies to the family. We are all completely devastated WITH THIS NEWS" SAYS CIRQUE du Soleil's founder. The safety measures they have are very, very elaborate. It's something that you incorporate into your training and your practice. If that were at the forefront of your mind you wouldn't be able to perform. Reporter: Guyard leaves mind two young children and questions about what went wrong.
