ABC's Ryan Owens has pore on what the new tapes reveal. I said you're not going to kill me you son of a And I shot him. Reporter: The jury heard from him for four hours but even they heard nothing like this? I'm the Victim here. I was the one who was victimized. It's like they attacked me. I'm the victim. I'm the victor, but I was the victim too. Reporter: The state's attorney's office just released jailhouse calls between the software developer and his fiancee who later testified against him. What did the defendant say? Oh, I hate that thug music. the young men he shot at must be criminals. It's when the police said that these guys didn't have a record, I was like, yeah, I wonder if they were just flying under the radar. Right. Because they were bad. Some of the calls are quite intimate. I miss you terribly. Yeah? Yeah. I knew what I had, but you don't know what you got till it's gone. Reporter: In hours of calls to his fiancee and parents Dunn repeatedly claims the state has to case against him. I'm just, you know, super confident that if they take this to trial as, you know, it's going to be a short deliberation. Reporter: That's not how it worked out. Jurors deliberated for more than 30 hours before finding Dunn guilty of three counts of attempted second degree murder for firing into an SUV full of teens at this Jacksonville gas station. Oh, my god, somebody is shooting. Reporter: The jury deadlocked on whether Dunn murdered 17-year-old Jordan Davis or if he shot him in self-defense. Even with a mistrial on the murder count, Dunn will spend the next 60 yea in prison. On the tapes he talks a lot about life behind bars. So I was in a room with three black guys. Oh, no. Well, they're -- two were kids and one was an old man and they asked what I was in for and I told them and I gave them some of the details and they were like yep straight up that's what they get. The jury didn't agree. And now Michael Dunn will likely spend the rest of his life in prison. For "Good morning America," Ryan Owens, ABC news, Jacksonville, Florida.
