Transcript for Hayden Panettiere Makes Trouble in 'Nashville'
Thank you, everybody. Now, we turn to hayden panettiere. She's gone from playing a cheerleader in "heroes" to a hit sensation making trouble on "nashville." And she's here live to tell us about the big, new role. Congratulations. Thank you. What a fun show to be a part of. It is. It's so much fun. A dream come true. I recorded for years when I was younger. I always said that my heart lives with country music. I knew that. I read that you were asinger. What a great opportunity to put the pipes to use. Yeah. And one of the coolest people I've ever met in my life. I was talking to connie britton. You do sing every song we hear on that show. Is there going to be an album? They're releasing a lot of songs on itunes. They had two drops today. One of mine and one "telescope." And it's amazing that the music is so different for each character. It takes you on this journey. You see them grow and change in character. It's funny you say that. The music does tell part of the story. And it gives an underlying current. Your character has an edge, shall we say? A slight edge. Slightly edgy. That's a nice way of putting it. How is that to play someone, someone that -- well, rhymes with witch? It's a blast. People never saw me in that character. It was going to be an uphill battle to be seen as something else. Anytime you look at a character that you want to play, you want to look for the layers. You want it to be -- like an onion. Where you get to peel back layers. And there's no point in playing the witch, without having some sort of motive behind it. And vulnerability. And people, I think, are really going to fall in love with the character and understand her pain. Well, we want to sw everybody a little bit of what's going on in the show. You are rivals, I think is an okay word, to say with connie britton. She plays a country music legend. And you, in this scene we're about to see, are interested in her band leader, played by charles astin. Let's take a little sneak peek. Don't be fooled by the shiny exterior. I'm more than meets the eye. Are you ready to get to it? That's what I was thinking. This is not how songs get written. No. This is what songs get written about. All right. There's a sneak peek. We don't have a lot of time. But we have a game for you. Are you ready? Your country music chops. I'm going to give you a line from a song. You tell us who sings it. The first being, I fell into a burning ring of fire. Johnny cash. That's rit. I was going to give you two choices. Number two. I got my keys in the side -- carrie underwood. She's cheer captain. I'm on the bleachers. Dreaming about the day. Tay. Taylor swift. You're qualified for the job. You can see her on "nashville." Stay with us. A little country music,
