Carter says traveling with your pet deserves a second look. First, she says, luxury chains from the peninsula hotels to the four seasons will greet your dog. Serve it room service. And in some cases -- There's a pet concierge on button on the phone. I pushed it. Can you walk my dog, please? There was a guy there in two minutes. Reporter: Attractions across the country are opening up to pets. In the northeast, Vermont's dog mountain is 150 acres of pure dog and owner bliss. Canine cruises in Alexandria, Virginia, lets you take your pup out on the potomac. The American folklore theater invites four-legged fans to enjoy their outdoor plays. And there's the art scene of the central California coast. Wander the galleries, enjoy some wine, all with your canine companion. As stores and restaurants open up to pets, our four-legged friends as an ice breaker you wouldn't normally have. In fact, yappy hours around the country are on the rise for travelers. Where all breeds and types mingle, as pet parents get to know each other. Okay, there is some rambunctious behavior. But that happens in human bars, too.
