You're kidding, right? They have more life experience than the age of most of our interns. Reporter: They co-star in "the internship." You're interns? Yes. Deal with it. So old, though. Reporter: Lost in a world of young 20-somethings they quickly learn they've got a lot to learn. Like teaching a kid the i will father bet. Like teaching a kid a letter. Just one letter. Reporter: Combining unfamiliar technology and a huge generation gap that leads to fierce competition. We're looking at some sort of mental hunger games against a bunch of genius kids with a handful of jobs. Reporter: Funny yes but it's not as farfetched as you may think. Ken blank is a 46-year-old intern. He left his unfulfilling finance job in chicago, sold his house and moved to buffalo all for an unpaid internship to learn the design business. I was thinking, an intern at 46 years old, what was i thinking. It's scary but great. Reporter: A returnship. An internship for adults returning to the beginning of the job cycle to learn a new career. He admits it's a crazy idea. Everybody thinks I'm nuts for doing this but everybody is very supportive.
