Sinai hospital for nearly five days now and though the hospital is not commenting, this morning, "Entertainment tonight" reports doctors started the process of gradually waking the 81-year-old out of the medically induced coma. Rivers hospitalized after going into cardiac arrest at this Manhattan endoscopy clinic but one doctor who is not treating rivers says easing the sedation may not necessarily improve her condition. Once the medication is stopped, then the doctors typically will see if the patient wakes up and responds to voice or to touch or to pain or perhaps the patient may remain in a coma.
