Transcript for July Jobs Report: 90-100 Thousand New Jobs?
38 other people were injured. We're getting a key report on the economy this morning. And the early indications are it's not exactly encouraging for the millions of americans looking for a job. My weekend co-anchor, bianna golodryga, is on the story. Good morning to you. Good to see you. This morning, the labor department is expected to report that only about 90,000 to 100,000 jobs were created last month. That's not enough to keep up with population growth or lower the unemployment rate, which has been above 8% for more than three years, the longest streak since world war ii. This will have major implications on the campaign trail. President obama argued that we'll moving in a positive direction jobs-wise. While mitt romney has called the economic policy a failure. Some are calling for another recession ahead. This news could determine whether the federal reserve gets more involved in trying to re-create growth in the economy. Stakes so high on so many levels. Thank you.
