Transcript for Opening of World's Tallest Water Slide Delayed
Now to what is supposed to be the world's biggest water slide. The openings was delayed for the third time. The big question, of course, is it safe. Working out glitches, and no word on exactly when it will open. ABC Matt Gutman has more. Reporter: Attention adrenaline junkies. This is more water fall than water slide. A vertigo-inducing nearly-vertical 17-store free fall. One that has filled several crash test sand bags caught by extreme water parks. Back in there. Reporter: You have to be insane to ride it. Not just the fastest, the coolest. Reporter: It's German for insane. It's taller than nigh niagara falls, measuring 160 feet and 7 inches. That's a record. And clocking in at speeds up to 70 miles an hour. But cameras rolling at water park in Kansas City when things started to go wrong. Oh, gosh! Reporter: The slide was supposed to open to the public for memorial day, but safety concerns pushed back the launch twice. Then just this week, the opening was delayed again because of a technical glitch in the innovative system that tows the rafts to the top of the rides. As with any innovative product, they are evaluating that it's safe for every rider. Reporter: It does have safety measures in place. Seat belts and safety netting enclosed slide, no more flying off. No official word when it's open, but I'll be the first in line when it does. F for good morning, America. Matt Gutman. As a legal expert, what do you think? They are smart to take their time. Keep delaying. The pr person said we would be rather embarrassed on the delay of opening, than opening it with issues. Watchesing that raft fly off -- Would you? Not with glitches. I would never. By the way, in case your wondering, Dr. Ashton said that pregnant women should avoid that. And not-pregnant people. Matt Gutman, good look. Don't miss the one hour special extreme water parks on the travel channel documenting the designing and building of this giant water slide.
