Our Cameron Mathison rubbed shoulders at the star-studded nominees luncheon. ♪ It's the one event during award season that isn't a competition. ♪ at the annual nominees luncheon in Beverly hills, stars mixed and mingled. This year so many first-time nominees. Lupita nyong'o. I didn't expect to be here. No, there's no way that I could have dreamt any of this stuff up. Reporter:. The best part is to be able to thank the people that believed in you for so long and, of course, I could spend every single one of these events thanking my mother. Reporter: This year so many real-life Cinderella stories like bark head hed Abdi who plays opposite captain Phillips. Unbelievable. But I tried to not think about that. Welcome to the Dallas buyers club. Reporter: What's it feel like to be here today, first time. It feels wonderful. I've been doing this 22 years to look around the room. Looking for you lone star. Reporter: You and Jared both won golden globes. This wasn't a big-budget film but did resonate so deeply with so many people. Sure did. What's it like to get all these accolades. The fact that we got this movie made was a huge victory for us. It was -- and now a year and a half later it's have the light shone on it. Something I'm proud of. A very small group of us that got together and put our blindfoals on and said we're making this movie. Reporter: Even the stars can get star-struck. Sandra bullock came up and said the nicest things ever. I was like, wow. She said her name is sandy. I was like, sandy. You get to call Sandra bullock sandy now. A whole different thing.
