Transcript for Secret Service Drinking Scandal: Agents Get New Assignments
And a major shakeup at the secret service, after the latest high-profile incidents involving heavy drinking and other agent misconduct on the president's protective detail. Pierre Thomas is tracking all of the fallout. Good morning, Pierre. Reporter: Good morning, George. Stunned by embarrassing behavior by secret service agents soliciting prostitutes, and drinking alcohol before critical assignments to protect the president, the new secret service director is lying down the law. Director Julia Pearson has reatined the deputy director and the supervisor overseaing the special operations division, after an incident in the Netherlands, after one agent was so drunk he passed out in a hotel hallway. The reassignments are intended to send a message to leadership and rank and file, that the new secret service director means business about her zero tolerance policy of frat boy behavior. Is this all of the changes planned? Reporter: The agency is looking at additional changes. But the secret service maintains these incidents are isolated and do not reflect a culture of misbehavior. Pierre, thank you very much.
